New blog format

I have just found out Blogger has a new blog template designer facility. Very easy to use and I quite like this new design I selected. Simple and easy on the eye. What do you think? Do you have any comments or things you like me to include.

I am still in the process of formatting the design may change things around. So excuse the work in progress.

  2. Hi Gill

Tabs are not included in the new default designs. They were added previously by changing part of the HMTL. I just highlighted them looks better isn't it.

  6. I agree, it looks nice and clean! The design is too wide for my screen so I only see the left column, the middle column (with the main post content) and a small sliver of the right column — but the stuff I care about is in the left and middle columns anyway, so I can live with this.

One tiny niggly comment — would it be a good idea to put your blogroll in alphabetical order? I think that might make it easier for people to read down the list and identify the blogs they don't already know of.

In general though, I like the way you have things arranged — very easy to find things like the search box, your contact address, and the different categories.

  7. Oh! Another thing I just noticed — your blog seems to now be called "Sunflower Food Galore" instead of "Sunflower's Food Galore". Is that on purpose?

Blogrolls is now in alphabetical order

When you said you cannot see much of the rhs can you scroll over? Changed the width a bit narrower. Any better? I like to keep the main middle part as wide as possible.

Slightly changed the title no particular reason not too keen with the apostrophe. Just want to keep this blog very simple and tidy.

  10. Looks good to me Sunflower. But then I liked the previous one too, so I'm on the fence so to speak LOL

  11. I have been wanting to increase the main column width for a long time.

I was restricted by the last design. I can manage to change the column width but can’t change the size of all the design frame images to match. Bummer!

This design is easy to fiddle with. I am happy with it so far.

  13. I am curious to know how do you change the main frame to be so wide? Looks really good!

  14. These new designs in Blogger have adjustable column width option. Quite good. But to expand the columns more than the default design I have to tweak the HMTL (design programme).

  15. Sorry for the slow reply — I wanted to get a screenshot to show you. Here: http://flickr.com/gp/kake_pugh/Xc8GS0

I can scroll across if necessary, but as I said, the things I would want to look at are in the left and middle columns anyway. I actually prefer it like this, because I like the wide middle column and I find the moving pictures in the right column are too distracting.
